MADISON – Senior citizens from Madison will be dancing and dealing as contestants in the 2013 Master Games of Alabama, District II.

Members of Madison Senior Center have entered the rook, line dancing and a few other contests. “All skill levels are welcome, and many events are planned, traditional as well as unusual,” Vickie Parker said. Parker is interim director at Madison Senior Center.

The games will be held at the Huntsville-Madison County Senior Center at 2200 Drake Ave. and Brahan Spring Recreation Center on June 11-14. Masters Games of Alabama are a recreational competition for seniors who are 50 years and older.

Contestants will be divided in age groups for 50-54, 55-59, 60-64 and older groups.

Madison Starlighters, the line dancers from Madison Senior Center, include leader Sandy Parsons, Joyce Duncan, Kathy Emerson, Judi Daniels, Carol Dambman, Joy Edwards and Margo Chabot.

The dancers will compete on June 10 to their rendition of the 1950s of the dance floor favorite, “At the Hop.”
