MADISON – Colorful tank tops and designs line the shelves of Doodles Personalized Gifts in the Publix Shopping Center.
The new store is perfect for young children, tweens, teens and college aged girls looking for the latest in fashion.

Owner Renee Doss opened the business two weeks ago and has been monogramming since 1997.

The monogrammed shirts, tank tops and quirky art are all part of the latest fashion trends sweeping college campuses.

“I do kids stuff with the bows and backpacks,” Doss said. “The tweens are really into the tank tops with the pockets and colorful designs. For adults I carry candles, bags, jewelry, scarfs and etc.”

Doss said she stays busy each day monogramming pocket t-shirts and tank tops and that those two are the “hottest items right now.”

Pretty much any color and size can be found inside the store.

“The bright summer colors are really in right now,” Doss said. “Script and circled monograms are also pretty popular right now.”
To keep up on the latest fashion trends, Doss relies on word of mouth, clothing markets and Internet research.

Doss said she hopes business picks up in the next couple of months as young women prepare to head back to school and with all the latest styles lining her business’ walls, it would be safe to say she will.
