Local man faces 20 counts in connection to theft spree

Staff Reports

MADISON — The Madison Police Department is set to serve a New Market man with 20 warrants connected to a string of recent burglaries to area homes under construction.

Robert Dale Jarvis, 46, of New Market, will be charged with 10 counts of burglary in the third degree, seven counts of theft of property in the third degree, two counts of theft of property in the second degree and one count of theft of property in the first degree.

According to a statement issued Thursday by MPD, Madison police officers and detectives have been investigating a number of burglaries to homes under construction in the city limits of Madison located in Limestone County.

On the weekends on Aug. 31 through Sept. 1 and Sept. 6 through Sept. 9, the MPD began investigating burglaries to homes under construction in subdivisions in the area of New Bristol Lane and Hardiman Place Lane, where kitchen appliances had been stolen.

Cooperating with detectives from the Huntsville Police Department, who had arrested Jarvis on similar charges, the MPD was able to obtain warrants through Limestone County Courts.

Police said the warrants will be served on Jarvis, who will be transferred to Limestone County Jail, once he has posted bond on current charges or legal proceedings through the Madison County Court System are concluded.
