MADISON – Madison police officers arrested Timothy Weidley, 18, of Madison for robbery in the first degree and reckless endangerment, following an incident in the Kroger parking lot, 300 Hughes Road.

On the evening of Dec. 17, officers responded to a multiple-vehicle accident in the Kroger parking lot. A Huntsville resident told officers that he had listed his laptop computer for sale on craigslist and was attempting to sell the computer to the individual who responded to the Craigslist posting.

Weidley took the laptop without proper payment and attempted to drive off. The victim tried to stop Weidley. As the two men struggled, Weidley’s car struck two other vehicles in Kroger’s parking lot.

The two men incurred minor injuries and were transported to the hospital by HEMSI. No other injuries were reported.

When Weidley was released from the hospital, police arrested him and charged with robbery in the first degree and reckless endangerment. Weidley was transported to the Madison County Jail, where he was given a $60,000 bond.

Madison Police Department is located at 100 Hughes Road in the Madison Municipal Complex. For non-emergencies, call 256-772-5658.
