Several teachers at Horizon Elementary School decided to wear tacky Christmas sweaters to school before the winter break, school nurse Lisa Harmon said. The ridiculous sweaters included raunchy reindeer, silly snowmen and even frivolous, lime-green feathers.

On a more serious note, Horizon students and teachers collected canned food drive for the Downtown Rescue Mission. “As a school, our administration has encouraged grade levels to participate in a service project for the past two years,” second-grade teacher Annette Driggers said.
