MADISON – The Knights of Columbus raised more than $5,600 for Madison City Schools.

The organization conducted its annual candy drive in the last quarter of 2013. Special education teachers will received the collected funds.

“Twenty percent (of the funds) goes to the state level, which we can apply for,” director of special education Maria Kilgore said. “That leaves approximately $4,400 for Madison City Schools special education teachers to spend.

Each school in the district will receive $400. Kilgore acknowledged special education coordinator Jamie Hill for scheduling work shifts and personnel.
