MADISON – Almost 23 percent of seniors at Bob Jones High School have scored 30 or higher on the American College Test (ACT).

“I cannot tell you how proud I am of the students and staff at Bob Jones,” Principal Robby Parker said. “We have 130 out of 572 students in the Class of 2014 that have scored 30 or above on the ACT.”

In addition, many seniors continue to take the ACT. “So this number may go up,” Parker said.

“I want to say that I am equally as proud of the students that have scored less than 30. The overall average ACT score is usually 23.5 or better. We usually test more than 90 percent of our kids,” Parker said.

Parker encourages students to take the ACT multiple times. “Through rigorous and relevant instruction and the ACT prep classes we offer, students have a tremendous opportunity to score well and receive scholarship dollars,” he said.

The Class of 2013 was offered approximately $30 million in scholarships. Fifty-three percent of those seniors received scholarship money.
