MADISON – Two amazing dogs in Madison, Daisy and Holly, urgently need someone to adopt both of them.

Holly and Daisy’s owner recently died, leaving the dogs homeless.

Daisy is a 10-year-old Australian shepherd, who is blind due to cataracts. Eight-year-old Holly is a retriever mix and gladly serves as Daisy’s seeing-eye dog.

“If MARF hadn’t taken them in from animal control, Daisy and Holly would have been euthanized,” volunteer Heather Phillips said.

“They play fetch very well. It’s just amazing to see,” Phillips said. When someone throws a ball, both girls chase it down, with Daisy following Holly.

“Holly picks up the ball and brings it halfway back and drops it. Daisy picks it up and brings it back to the person,” Phillips said.

When walking or running, Daisy slightly leans and touches Holly for a guide to follow on their path. “It’s just amazing,” Phillips said. “They are inseparable!”

These companion dogs have loving personalities and are devoted to each other, Phillips said. “They need a family to shower them with love.”

MARF is offering a reduced adoption fee for Daisy and Holly to have a “perfect forever home,” she said.

Volunteers run MARF, a non-profit organization. Donations to MARF are tax-deductible.

MARF does not have a shelter building, so individuals in foster homes keep the animals. Fosters care for the pets as if they were their own and provide exercise, training and socialization.

MARF conducts adoption days at Petco near Target in The Shoppes of Madison center on U.S. 72 in Madison. Adopt times are Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
