Busy week ahead for area teams

MADISON-  Spring break is over and it is back to business for teams from Bob Jones and James Clemens as they enter the stretch run of the baseball and softball seasons. Playoff spots will be on the line as both teams face key games.

James Clemens’ softball team starts the week Tuesday at 4:30 hosting Florence in a key Area 16 game. The Jets have a loss to Florence and can’t afford another one. They have swept Decatur and still have games left to play against Austin.

Bob Jones’ softball team travels to play top-ranked Sparkman Tuesday at 6:30. Bob Jones is still looking for their first Area 15 win of the season.

The James Clemens baseball team plays area-leader Decatur in a big series that will decide who makes the playoffs. The Jets are coming off a sweep of Florence but lost a series to Austin. Decatur has defeated Florence and Austin in area play. James Clemens plays at Decatur Friday night and hosts Saturday starting at 1 pm.

The Bob Jones baseball team carries a perfect mark in area play into a weekend series with Buckhorn. Buckhorn lost to Sparkman in area play. Buckhorn hosts Friday night and Bob Jones hosts Saturday with a special start time of 11 A.M. due to the Bob Jones prom on Saturday night.
