Korean War vets to gather for annual lunch at The Summit

HUNTSVILLE – Veterans of the Korean War will be honored at their eighth annual luncheon on May 29.

The event will be held at on May 29 at The Summit on Redstone Arsenal. Social time will begin at 10:30 a.m., followed by lunch and program from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Maj. Gen. Ole A. Knudson, program executive for programs and integration with the Missile Defense Agency, will be featured guest at the luncheon. The menu choice will be prime rib or chicken cordon bleu.

Korean War veterans will eat at no cost. All other individuals will pay $20 each.

Established in January 2011, the Legacy 4 Korean War Veterans Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization that honors military personnel who served in this war.

The foundation sponsors Revisit Korea, a weeklong, expense-paid visit to South Korea for veterans of the Korean War. The veterans return to Korea for the first time since the armistice signing in 1953.
