MPD: Three charged in murder conspiracy

MADISON — Authorities say a convicted murderer already serving a life sentence may soon face additional charges after investigators uncovered an alleged murder-for-hire scheme tied to a Dec. shooting in Madison.

The investigation began on Christmas Eve when officers with the Madison police Department responded to reports of gunfire on Ivy Chase Drive.

Although no one was injured in the incident, detectives say the call ultimately led them to a broader conspiracy involving multiple suspects and a plot to kill a targeted individual.

Police say two people, Tihirah Allen and Keeyvon Ford, have been arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit murder.

Allen was taken into custody in late Jan. and also faces an electronic stalking charge, while Ford was arrested in early March as investigators continued building According to investigators, the alleged plan was directed by Latransezon Malloy, who is currently incarcerated at the Kilby Correctional Facility in Montgomery. Authorities believe Malloy knew both suspects and the intended victim, though the exact nature of their relationships has not been publicly disclosed.

Detectives say the scheme may have involved payment for carrying out the killing, though officials have not confirmed whether money actually changed hands. If charged, Malloy would face conspiracy to commit murder in connection with the plot.

Malloy is already serving a life sentence stemming from a 2019 conviction in the 2015 killing of Markia Kendall in Huntsville. Prosecutors said Malloy and three accomplices posed as police officers to force their way into Kendall’s home during a sleepover involving the victim’s children and their cousins. The attackers reportedly moved the children to another part of the house before fatally shooting Kendall.

That sentence was added to a separate 40-year term Malloy was already serving on drug-trafficking charges.

Madison police described the current investigation as complex, comparing it to “putting together a large puzzle” as detectives traced communications and connections between suspects. Officials also indicated that Malloy may have attempted to coordinate additional criminal activity across Alabama while behind bars, though details about those allegations have not yet been released.

Authorities have not identified the intended victim in the plot.
