MADISON – The Alabama Patriots baseball team with players from the Madison area won the 12U Mid-South USSSA Super NIT (SNIT) in Southaven, Miss.

The Patriots played 6-9 in this win. USSSA abbreviates United States Specialty Sports Association.

This win is the Patriots second SNIT championship this season. They won the SNIT held in Atlanta this spring. Overall, the team record is now 34-5.

Alabama Patriots players are Slate Alford, Nick Constantine, Matt Dailey, Jayce Guyette, Cam Hill, Logan Morris, Dylan Ray, Caden Rose, Avery Seaton and Harrison Steward.

The Patriots are now setting their sights on the American Youth Baseball Hall of Fame Invitational Tournament in Cooperstown, N.Y. on June 6-13. The Madison-based team was selected to compete with 104 teams in this 12U tournament.

In addition to competing against teams from around the country, members of the Alabama Patriots will be enshrined in the prestigious American Youth Baseball Hall of Fame, team parent Jamie Hill said.

Since 1996, the Cooperstown Dream Park Experience has offered more than baseball. Players and coaches will visit the National Baseball Hall of Fame, share hometown stories, trade pins and compete for a weekly national title.

Teams will lodge in the Baseball Village clubhouse and eat all meals in the team dining pavilion. Each team is guaranteed at least seven games and will earn a seed to play in the single-elimination championship tournament.

“The Cooperstown Dream Park mission is to promote a high caliber of play and allow young players to experience the purity of baseball as it was meant to be,” Hill said. Players will leave with a sense of pride, dignity and accomplishment for participating in and becoming part of history.
