Cat Show on July 26-27 to benefit Challenger’s House

HUNTSVILLE – This weekend, a cat show will benefit Challenger’s House, a non-profit, no-kill cat rescue and shelter.

The show will be presented on two days, July 26-27 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Jaycees building, 2180 Airport Road SW in Huntsville.

More than 150 pedigreed cats and household pets will compete for awards in six judging rings each day. Roy Canin and Dr. Elsey’s Litter Box Solutions are sponsoring the show.

Several vendors will be attending the show. Wickedly Good Teasers will offer cat toys. Precious Pets will sell jewelry and clothing.

Paw Trac will offer shirts, cat mats and other feline supplies. Furwood Forest will have cat scratch trees that are made from actual trees.

Challenger’s House will have adoptable cats at the show. Two of their cats will compete in the “Household Pet” class competition.

Admission for adults is $5. Children from five to 12 years old will pay $3. Children younger than 5 years old will have free admission. Senior citizens who are 65 years and older, along with uniformed military personnel, will pay $4.

Founded in 1991, Challenger’s House is a limited admission safe haven with no time limits for homeless or unwanted cats. The shelter is a 501(c)3, non-profit tax-exempt organization.
