MADISON – An upcoming fundraiser at a popular Madison gathering place will help in the battle to solve the mysteries of Alzheimer’s disease.

Visiting Angels Senior Homecare will host the “Have Fun, Do Good — End Alzheimer’s” event at Blue Pants Brewery, 500 Lanier Road on Aug. 6 from 3 to 10 p.m. (https://visitingangels.com/)

Visiting Angels is also partnering with Earth & Stone Wood-Fired Pizza for guests to enjoy a pizza slice with their favorite custom, craft beer from Blue Pants.

“Every year, Visiting Angels has a team named ‘Awesome Angels’ that participates in The Alzheimer’s Association annual walk for a cure to Alzheimer’s disease,” Visiting Angels Director of Operations Cheryl Webb said. “We raise money to contribute to the cure.”

“This year, the Awesome Angels team is delighted to partner with Blue Pants and Earth & Stone,” Webb said. For the Aug. 6 event, Visiting Angels will offer promotional items from The Alzheimer’s Association “that folks can purchase or make a donation.”

In addition, Blue Pants and Earth & Stone will donate $1 for every beer and pizza ordered to the Visiting Angels team.

From 7 to 9 p.m., Chapman James will entertain guests with his guitar and folk song renditions. Professionally trained, James danced with the Jackson Ballet in Mississippi and the State of Alabama Ballet. He is a songwriter, choreographer, writer, teacher and vocalist.

To allow senior citizens to continue living at home, Visiting Angels’ staff works with an elderly person’s family to develop an individualized program for home care services. Employees help the elderly person with hygiene, meals, errands, light housekeeping and companionship.

Visiting Angels’ address is 8531 U.S. 72 W. in Madison. For more information, call 256-837-1137 or visit visitingangels.com/Madison.
