MADISON COUNTY – Debra Kizer has launched her campaign for Madison County License Director.

Kizer officially entered the county race with an event on Aug. 5 at the home of Jane Smith, who currently serves as Madison County Circuit Clerk.

“I am running for license director to improve services for all citizens of Madison County,” Kizer said. “As a full-time license director, my highest priority is to offer outstanding customer service to constituents on a daily basis through leading by example.”

Kizer is committed to introducing “21st-century technology to modernize and refine procedures to reduce cost and wait times. I will work in conjunction with the Madison County Commission to improve accessibility and convenience to License Department services at the Madison County Courthouse and satellite locations,” she said.

A lifelong Republican, Kizer is lives in the Big Cove community of Madison County. She and her husband Keith have three children from their 33-year marriage.

Kizer said she understands the fiscal responsibility of running a business from her time as the manager and operator of her husband’s former motor sports business. Currently, she works as a court specialist for the Circuit Clerk of Madison County.

Kizer serves as vice president for both the Alabama Court Specialists Association and Alabama State Employees Association, Rocket City Chapter. She volunteers with the Madison County “Walk for Autism” committee and parent advisory board of Glenwood’s Journey Academy in Huntsville.

She is an active member of Whitesburg Baptist Church.

“I humbly ask the voters of Madison County to grant me the privilege of serving them as license director on Nov. 4,” Kizer said.
