MADISON – “An Evening with the Jets” annual dinner event will raise funds for the James Clemens High School softball team while giving parents and others a chance for ‘a night out.’

The evening of live music, games and a silent auction will open at 5:45 p.m. on Nov. 6 at the school.

A.J. Daugherty, Jets softball head coach, said the proceeds will defray general operating costs, along with expenses for equipment, travel, tournament entry fees and capital projects.

Carrabba’s will cater and their employees will serve Chicken Marsala, Penne Pomodoro, Caesar salad, bread, dessert and beverage.

“‘An Evening With the Jets” will include fun games for adults, live music, awesome door prizes and a silent auction,” Daugherty said. Gus Hergert will perform and entertain the guests with this brand of vocals.

Guests can bid on a variety of merchandise in the silent auction. Golf outings, dinner gift certificates, hotel vacations and themed baskets are among the tempting selections up for bid in the silent auction.

“The James Clemens softball team had their first winning season in 2014 with a record of 21-19. We look to improve on our record this season in our first year with grades 9-12 full of students,” Daugherty said.

Dinner tickets are $35 each and include admission, dinner and a chance to win door prizes, including a flat-screen television. “Please see a James Clemens softball player to purchase tickets,” Daugherty said.

Daugherty encourages residents and local businesses to contact him with contributions for the silent auction and for door prizes. For more information, call Daugherty at 256-216-5313, email to jcjetssoftball@gmail.com or visit Facebook/James Clemens softball or Twitter @jcjetssoftball.
