MADISON – Rotary Club of Madison hosted fellow Rotarians from across the northern half of Alabama for the District 6860 Annual Foundation Dinner.

Club members gathered to make acquaintances and renew established friendships while learning about the Rotary Foundation, the charitable arm of Rotary International.

Ron Burton, immediate past president of Rotary International, and his wife Jetta Burton were special guests for the district event on Nov. 6 at the Best Western Plus Hotel in Madison. He discussed ways in which Rotarians’ gifts are transformed into projects that change lives both close to home and around the world.

Pat Cross and Debbie Overcash served as event co-chairpersons.

District governor Jerry Shepherd and Ron Burton awarded recognitions for major donors to past district governor Tom Greene, district governor nominee Gary Andrew, Joann Andrew, Madison Rotarian Art Shaw and Mary Shaw.

Guests included 15 Madison Rotarians, along with Eric Moss, president of the Alabama A&M University Rotaract Club that the Rotary Club of Madison sponsors.
