Mollie Dee Scott Isbell August 5, 1935 – January 17, 2015

Mollie joins her parents L.D. and Zona Scott and her husband and soul mate B. “Billy” Spencer Isbell after passing peacefully at her home in Madison. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, she was a second mother and grandmother to many and loved by all who knew her.

Born on Sand Mountain, Mollie graduated Salutatorian in 1953 from Sardis High School. She attended Jacksonville State University and moved to Huntsville in 1956 to work at Redstone Arsenal. She completed her career as a bookkeeper in 1998 with 22 years for the Huntsville City School System.

Survivors include her five children, Christa Burridge (Mark, dec.), Leslie Coughlin (John), Spencer Isbell (Lisa), Margie Higginbotham (Mark), and Elizabeth Hornbuckle (Tony); brother, Jim Scott (Gerri); sister, June Schlagel (Leonard); 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; seven nieces and nephews; eight grand nieces and grand nephews and 16 grand pets.

Her fiery spirit, nurturing mind, and selfless devotion to family, friends, and Alabama Football was celebrated at a memorial service at 11 a.m. Friday, January 23 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home followed by a burial at Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation was one hour prior to the service
