Fire on the Mountain Returns to Burritt on the Mountain March 7

MADISON – Burritt on the Mountain invites the community to experience the sights, sounds, and smells of the 1800s during Fire on the Mountain on Saturday, March 7, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This immersive day in the Historic Park will feature open hearth cooking, blacksmithing, and fires burning throughout the grounds. Visitors can watch historic cooks prepare traditional recipes over open flames and a cast-iron cook stove, offering a vivid glimpse into daily life in the 19th century. Guests of all ages can enjoy hands-on activities, campfire basics demonstrations, and soapmaking demonstrations. The event offers a memorable, sensory experience that brings history to life in an engaging and interactive way.

To complement the day’s activities, themed snacks and drinks will be available for purchase. O Taste & See BBQ food truck will also be on site from 11:00 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“Fire on the Mountain provides a unique opportunity for families, friends, and history enthusiasts to step back in time and experience the traditions that helped shape our community,” said Melanie Thornton, CEO.
