HUNTSVILLE – Ken Creel will present a free workshop on lawn care at the Madison County Extension Office, 819 Cook Ave. in Huntsville on May 5.

From noon to 2 p.m., Creel will discuss the best growing conditions for all types of lawns. Creel works as regional extension agent.

“Whether you have Bermuda grass, fescue, zoysia, centipede turf or just a jumble of crabgrass and henbit, you won’t want to miss Ken Creel’s interactive presentation on southern lawn care,” Master Gardener Sue Khoury said.

“Ken brings his education and years of experience to bear on such tough turf topics as the ideal soil pH, how much and when to water, selecting the right grass for your lifestyle and environment, grass pathogens and how to optimize fertilization,” Khoury said.

“He’ll also share some entertaining stories,” she said.

The free workshop is open to the public. Seating is limited. To register, visit mginfo.org.

Master Gardeners of North Alabama and Alabama Cooperative Extension System are sponsoring the workshop.
