Annual Japanese Spring Garden Festival to be held at Monte Sano State Park on Sunday

HUNTSVILLE – The Japanese Spring Garden Festival will be held at Monte Sano State Park in Huntsville this weekend, Sunday, May 3, 12:30–4:30 p.m.

Witness the serene North Alabama Japanese Garden transformed into a vibrant festival, mirroring the lively atmosphere of temple festivals in Japan.

Enjoy the rhythm and grace of traditional Japanese dance and music. Experience the mindfulness of a formal tea ceremony. Engage with hands-on Japanese crafts and sample iconic treats. Discover unique treasures in the curated market of Japanese antiques.

Organizers say this is a wonderful opportunity to gather with friends to enjoy the essence of Japan right here in North Alabama.

The festival will feature Japanese food, music, dance, martial arts, tea ceremony, origami, calligraphy, children’s activities, vendors, and more.

Included this year will be a traditional Koto player, which is something special that organizers say they are not able to include every year. Koto is a traditional instrument.

Guests can enjoy the rhythm and grace of traditional Japanese dance and music at Sunday’s Japanese Spring Garden Festival. Martial art performances feature Kendo and Bujinkan, which are commonly associated with ninjitsu, the ninja technique.

The festival will also have vintage Japanese goods, art vendors, and bakers who specialize in Japanese pastries.

This family-friendly event is designed to celebrate Japanese culture and bring the Huntsville/ Madison community together.

The entrance fee is $10/ vehicle, so squeeze in as many friends as you can!

The North Alabama Japanese Garden Foundation is presenting this special celebration of culture and tradition.

Check out the festival’s website for more information: www.najgarden.org/ garden. You can also find it on Facebook at www. facebook.com/Japanesegardenhuntsville.
