HUNTSVILLE – A free workshop to explain the process of writing grants has been scheduled by Serve Alabama and United Way of Madison County.

Kratos Defense at 4904 Research Drive in Huntsville will host the workshop on April 30 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

“Because of the overwhelming response to the first workshop last year, we have decided to host another workshop to give those who did not have the opportunity to attend last time a second chance,” senior program officer Christine Williams said.

Non-profit and faith-based organization leaders, along with the general public, are invited to attend. The interactive workshop will provide basic skills needed to prepare a professional, persuasive and viable grant proposal written to benefit an organization.

Serve Alabama, the Governor’s Office of Faith-Based and Volunteer Service, works to increase an ethic of service and volunteerism in Alabama. The organization promotes collaboration among individuals and organizations striving to meet pressing needs in the state.

To register for the workshop, email to info@servealabama.gov or visit servealabama.gov.

For more information, call Ashley Whittle Tiedt at 334-328-5971 or email to ashley.tiedt@servealabama.gov.
