Bob Jones writers win

MADISON – Several students at Bob Jones High School won awards in the Young Writers Contest, sponsored by Huntsville Literary Association.

In short story entries, Kennedy Saaristo earned third place and Michael Burleson received honorable mention. In poetry, Megan Zecher was a first-place winner, Kiara Gunn earned third, and Kalee Yem received honorable mention.

For visual arts, Donald Rizzardi claimed first place, while Alyssa Kennedy was in second place.

Students received a commemorative plate, certificate and cash prizes reaching up to $250.

During almost five decades with the contest, Huntsville Literary Association has encouraged youth in grades 1-12 to explore creative writing and literary arts.
