MADISON – Christian Women’s Job Corps (CWJC) invites residents to attend a ‘Meet and Greet’ session on July 22.

The meeting will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Asbury United Methodist Church, 980 Hughes Road in the Joy Building, which is the fellowship hall located on the campus’ northeast side.

Speakers will explain the objectives and structure of Christian Women’s Job Corps. “Guests will find out how we can help you update and improve your skills to become more marketable,” site coordinator Susan Elder said.

Christian Women’s Job Corps is a free, faith-based job readiness program designed to provide experiences and skills that allow graduates to compete in the job market and create a brighter future for themselves and their families, Elder said.

Guests will learn about the free classes and GED tutoring that the corps offers. “You can discover how you can get more work experience to add to your resume,” Elder said. “Guests also will find out how you can benefit from the support of our mentoring program.”

Currently, the job corps is taking applications for the 2015 fall semester. Elder encourages residents to announce the opening at church, neighborhood meetings, in email lists and on Facebook pages.

To access a flier and an application, visit cwjc.net/students or Facebook/Christian Women’s Job Corps of Madison County, AL, Inc. For questions, call Charmika Merriweather at 256-428-9461 or email to cmerriweather@cwjc.net.

The Madison office of the job corps is located at Inside-Out Ministries, 103 Gin Oaks Court. Office hours are Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For information, call 256-886-2280 or visit cwjc.net.
