HUNTSVILLE – The EPIC (Exceptional People In Community) organization is starting a holiday tradition by sponsoring a new event.

EPIC’s first annual “Family Holiday Dinner & Dancing” evening will be held on Nov. 6 at Holiday Inn – Research Park at 5903 University Drive in Huntsville. The festivities will run from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m.

A non-profit 501(c)3 organization, EPIC has the goal of providing a day program in the Madison community for young adults who are developmentally challenged.

To start the evening, guests will enjoy a scrumptious dinner buffet. Businesses and stores have donated prizes for a silent auction at the party.

The Zooks will provide lively music for dancing with their classic rock anthems, Motown tunes and rhythm and blues standards. The Zooks often surprise their audiences with assorted special guests and honorary members on-stage.

Usually, people from the audience join The Zooks on stage for a vamp on “Ride, Sally, Ride” from the classic tune, “Mustang Sally.”

The ticket donation for each guest is $35. For tickets and more information, call 256-652-8138, email to epic.kathy@yahoo.com or visit EpicAlabama.com or Facebook/Exceptional People In Community. EPIC’s mailing address is P.O. Box 1008, Madison, AL 35758.

EPIC’s greater goal is to build a community center designed to assist with life skills applications and to foster productive citizenship. Currently, few options are available for afternoon programs or activities for young adults who are developmentally challenged. As a result, many adults with challenges are in need of a full-day program.

Members of the EPIC Board of Directors are president Rhonda Williams Lustig, vice president Angela Wires, secretary Claudia Rice, treasurer Mary Anne Razook and board members Cynthia Allison and Kathy Burris.
