MADISON – The Alliance for Opportunity and Development (AOD) is inviting companies to recruit employees at its fourth annual AOD Community Career Fair on March 16.

The career fair at the Jaycee Community Building off Airport Road in Huntsville will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Setup will start at 9 a.m. Registration is open to this free event.

“Last year’s event had 46 employers, 10 schools and six nonprofit organizations. We are working to make this event even bigger and better,” AOD Executive Director Gary Mathis said.

This career fair targets job seekers without four-year degrees. However, employers are welcome to recruit for degreed job seekers, also. Organizers will provide complimentary refreshments to exhibitor attendees. Electricity and WiFi will be available at no extra charge.

For registration information, call Mathis at 256-541-3765, email staff@aod-alabama.org or visit aod-alabama.org/index.php/career-fair/exhibitors. AOD’s mailing address is Alliance for Opportunity and Development, 6983 Wall Triana, Suite S, Madison, AL 35757.

Established in Jan. 2012, AOD is a 501(c)3 non-profit Christian organization. Its mission is to provide education and training opportunities for low-income families in the hopes to reduce poverty.

“We serve the greater Huntsville, Alabama community. Our primary program is ‘Learn and Earn’ scholarships that provide low-income adults with life-changing job-training scholarships to lift them out of poverty,” Mathis said.

AOD’s “Imagination and Aspiration” scholarships provide experiences in science and technology during summer camp to children from low-income families.

The AOD board funds all administrative costs so that 100 percent of all other donations is applied to programs. The AOD staff welcomes requests for a presentation to local businesses, churches and organization.
