MADISON – The “Madison Kite Festival: Rise Above” will debut on April 2.

James Clemens High School will host the event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Ready yoUrself For the Future (RUFF) boys’ organization is teaming up with Madison City Schools and GreenpowerUSA to stage the event.

In addition, the first annual Madison City Electric Vehicle Race also will be held on April 2 at James Clemens. The race hours will be 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“The events are free for the community to attend,” RUFF sponsor and event spokesperson Anthony Graham said.

“There will be lots of amazing opportunities for your family to experience, such as kite flying, children activities, entertainment, flight simulators, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) demonstrations, vendors and food trucks.
