MADISON – High school seniors can apply for scholarships that two North Alabama companies are offering.

The eighth annual Pro-Air, Pro-Earth Scholarship for $2,000 requires only “a few simple requirements and definition of a Pro-Earth person,” Pro-Air Services Inc. Vice President Jason Putman said. Past winners were students in Florence and at Lexington, Grissom, Bob Jones and Decatur high schools.

Pro-Air, Services is a veteran-owned company.

Applicants must plan to attend a technical, two- or four-year college after graduation. The student must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and/or a minimum score of 24 on ACT or 1650 on SAT. An essay must define a Pro-Earth person.

Mailing deadline is April 8. The student’s guidance counselor should provide a letter that certifies GPA/test scores and post-secondary education plans. Mail to letter and essay to Pro-Air Services Inc., C/O Pro-Earth Scholarship, P.O. Box 5054, Decatur, AL 35601.

Pro-Earth will announce scholarship winners on April 18. For more information, call 256-353-4446 or 256-858-8500 or email jasonp@pro-air.net.

Another scholarship opportunity, the 2016 Logistics and Transportation Career Scholarship, is available with Redstone-Huntsville Chapter Startup Group (RSH Group), an informal association of local members of the National Defense Transportation Association (NDTA). The winner will receive an award of $500 plus a one-year student membership in NDTA.

Applying students must plan to major in logistics or transportation area at Alabama A&M University or University of Alabama in Huntsville.

The applicant must be an U.S. citizen and permanent resident of Jackson, Limestone, Madison, Marshall or Morgan counties in Alabama or Franklin, Giles or Lincoln counties in Tennessee. A minimum 3.5 GPA and a written essay are required.

Deadline is March 31. For more information, email Kristi.e.krieger@leidos.com.
