MADISON – Kellen Mashburn, a sixth-grader at West Madison Elementary School, believes he can best channel his athletic skills in the game of baseball.

In baseball, Mashburn plays for the Bulls as shortstop and pitcher. He also plays basketball in Madison’s recreation league and handles the position of point guard.

“Baseball is my favorite (sport), because that’s what I feel I’m best at,” Mashburn said.

At West Madison, he is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. His physical education teacher is Allison Daugherty.

Kellen’s parents are Chad and Stephanie Mashburn. “My mom works at PAR Pharmaceutical as a project manager. My dad is a stay-at-home dad,” Kellen said. Kellen’s brother, Brendan Bickleman, is a sophomore at Bob Jones High School.

“As Kellen’s parents, we could not be more proud of his accomplishments so far in life. He’s a good student athlete and all around good kid,” Chad and Stephanie Mashburn said.
