Veteran of the Week

MADISON – In 1992, Lieutenant Colonel Chris Enderton began his service in the U.S. Army National Guard.

Enderton came onto Active Duty in the U.S. Army in 1998. Currently, he is still serving the Army on his second tour at Redstone Arsenal. He has compiled 18 years in military service.

Enderton completed Flight School and the Alabama Aviation Officer Basic Course at Fort Rucker. He was assigned to Hunter Army Airfield in Savannah, Ga. and to Schofield Barracks at Wheeler Army Airfield in Honolulu, Hawaii.

He also completed study at the National Training Center at Fort Irwin, Calif. and Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, Calif. He served at Fort Bragg, N.C. and Redstone Arsenal.

In deployments outside the United States, Enderton was assigned to serve in South Korea.

Currently, Enderton works as Product Director for the Non-Standard Rotary Wing Project Office within the Program Executive Office Aviation (PEO Aviation).

In college study, he graduated from Kemper Military Junior College in Boonville, Mo. He earned a bachelor’s degree at University of Washington in Seattle and a master’s degree in business administration at Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, Calif.

The Enderton family moved to Madison in 2005 when he reported for his first tour at Redstone Arsenal. His wife Angie Enderton was a Specialist in U.S. Army Reserve, where she served for eight years. Now, Angie is a stay-at-home mom for their children. Their nine-year-old son Kai is a student at West Madison Elementary School, and their daughter Moana is five years old.

Angie is PTA President at West Madison and keeps the Enderton family involved with school events and community activities.

“We like to spend time and do things as a family, especially hockey. We are passionate Huntsville Havoc fans and love to travel,” Chris Enderton said.
