MADISON – Sergeant E5 Jerrell Reynolds entered active service with the U.S. Army in February 2006 when he was 19 years old.

Reynolds completed basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. “From there, I went to my Advance Individual Training (AIT) at Fort Sill, Okla.,” Reynolds said.

“After I completed AIT, I was stationed at Fort Bragg, N.C. in 3rd Battalion, 27th Field Artillery Regiment (HIMARS), 82nd Airborne division as a Fire Direction Specialist,” he said.

“I deployed to Afghanistan in support of the United States Special Operations Command (SOCOM) in August 2006 for a year. I got out of the active Army after four years and joined the Tennessee National Guard,” Reynolds said.

As a soldier with Tennessee National Guard, he completed another one-year deployment to help the efforts of SOCOM from August 2013 to August 2014. “I got out of the Army in November 2014 due to health issues,” Reynolds said.

He grew up in the East Limestone community in Limestone County. “My wife and I moved to Madison because of the opportunities available here and the great school system for our children,” Reynolds said.

His wife, Stephanie Reynolds, works as a Senior Reliability Engineer at Quantitech. Their son Bryson is four years old. Jerrell Reynolds also has a 10-year-old step-daughter named Lily Burke.

Jerrell owns Rocket City Landscape LLC that offers lawn maintenance and landscape installation work. “You can find our ad in ‘The Madison Record’ newspaper,” he said. Rocket City Landscape is a member of Madison Chamber of Commerce.

“I love spending time with my family and being outdoors,” Jerrell said. “I also love building things (or trying to build) and tinkering on vehicles.”
