MADISON – Penelope ‘Penny’ Holloway has found her niche in playing with the Upward Flag Football League, which is affiliated with First Baptist Church of Madison.

Penny’s team name is the Saints. Like her teammates, Penny has the opportunity to play in all of the game positions, because “in Upward we give everyone a chance to play equally,” she said.

Penny has chosen football as the sport that she likes best. “Playing flag football is so much fun! Also, we like to watch football. Our favorite teams are the New Orleans Saints and the Alabama Crimson Tide,” Penny said.

In May, Penny, who is six years old, completed first grade at Heritage Elementary School. Her older brother Desmond, 7, will enter third grade at Heritage in August.

At The Grove Baptist Church, Penny enjoys participating in Awana and has been proud to earn an extra credit pin every year. She is entering her third year in Girl Scouts, and she recently bridged to Brownies.
