MADISON – The administrators and faculty at Bob Jones High School will host Patriot Night on Aug. 1.

All Bob Jones students and parents can attend the event, which will have an open house environment. “We invite you and your student to Patriot Night on Aug. 1 to learn about our exciting 2016-2017 school year,” Bob Jones Principal Sylvia Lambert said.

“Find out information about the amazing opportunities at Bob Jones and meet your student’s teachers as you walk through his/her schedule,” Lambert said.

The first day of school for students will be Aug. 3.

Patriot Night activities will open at 5 to 5:30 p.m. with “Patriot Pride” when student families can stroll the Commons area. Students can learn more about the schedule for a typical school day and the club and organizations that may appeal to their special interests.

Specifically for the parents, an expo area will offer the Patriot Parent University with information about Bob Jones PTSA, including membership payments, volunteering, nurse’s station, transportation, apparel, sports tryouts and lunch details.

At 5:30 p.m., everyone will gather in Zompa Auditorium with PTSA officers and Lambert leading a short meeting. From 5:45 to 5:55 p.m., families will dismiss to students’ homerooms for schedule pickup.

With schedules in hand, students will walk through their class rotations with first block as starting point from 5:55 to 6:40 p.m.

The event schedule will repeat at 6:40 p.m. with the “Patriot Pride” session in the Commons.

In other back-to-school events, students will make onsite fee payments on July 25-26 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. for class supplies, yearbook, parking pass, advanced-placement exam fee, senior fee and other costs.

In another payment option, parents also can pay fees online at the Bob Jones website. Visit bjhs.madisoncity.k12.al.us and click “Pay Here.”

“We’re preparing a BJ awesome experience for your student,” Lambert said on behalf of the faculty.
