MADISON – Kim Lund has been recognized as 2016 Staff Member of the Year at Bob Jones High School.

“At the same time I received this award, I also retired after 19 years at Bob Jones. It was a memorable day,” Lund said.

Lund has taken pride in “forming working relationships with teachers and staff members to better help understand students’ needs.” She worked as facilitator of the resource room for the Special Education Department at Bob Jones.

Her duties included “assisting students in taking tests, projects and homework assignments.”

Lund has felt the most fulfillment in her work when she saw “the former students out in the community or on their jobs. I am always being greeted with a big hug, and they are always wanting to know what’s going on at Bob Jones.”

She will never forget her experiences with the cheer squad in 2008 and 2009. “I coached the developmental cheerleading squad, who cheered at basketball and volleyball games,” Lund said. “The squad of five were so excited to get out on the floor and cheer and dance their hearts out!”

She earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Barrington College in Barrington, R.I. Before moving to Madison in 1996, Lund worked for the U.S. Army Communications Command at Fort Monmouth, N.J. as an item manager in the satellite branch.

Her husband Chris works as Project Manager for the U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command.

Their daughter Amanda Bevel and husband Andrew are parents of June Greer and Marion. Their son Chris Lund works for Madison Chamber of Commerce as Marketing Manager. Daughter Julia Lund works as an IT Consultant for EMC/Dell.
