Vincent chosen as Columbia’s staff honoree

MADISON – Leslie Vincent was chosen as Staff Member of the Year at Columbia Elementary School.

Vincent works as an instructional aide at Columbia. “I love my job. Each student teaches me more humanity as I work with them,” she said.

One of her best memories from her work occurred when Vincent saw a student walk with assistance.

“One student that stands out to me was Kelvin. He made major strides while we had him. He went from constant fighting to following me to the nurse without restraint,” she said.

Vincent studied clinical sociology at the University of New Orleans. “I worked in human resources as a supervisor of a pilot program before Hurricane Katrina hit,” she said.

In Madison, Vincent also has worked at West Madison Elementary School, Liberty Middle School and Bob Jones High School.
