MADISON – For Tiffany Knox, Madison is a great place to live because it’s so family friendly. She especially appreciates the parks and fun-filled activities for her children.

A native of Plano, Texas, Knox attended Brigham Young University (in Idaho and in Hawaii) and graduated from the University of Texas at Dallas. “I have a bachelor’s degree in American studies, focused on sociology and cultural studies. I minored in business, which has served me well,” she said.

Interested in painting and fine art, Knox uses acrylics, oil and colored pencil as favorite mediums. “Portraits are my favorite to draw/paint, though, with young children around, I rarely find time anymore. Maybe when my children are older and in school I can return to that hobby,” she said.

Working from home, Knox owns a business as an independent fashion consultant for LuLaRoe clothing company. “I have over 1,500 clothing items in 25-plus styles, ranging from sizes 2T for toddlers to 3XL, fitting up to size 26 for women. I carry leggings, tops, skirts, dresses and cardigans/kimonos,” she said.

“The fabrics are amazing. Each cut is carefully designed for every single size,” Knox said. She sells primarily with Facebook but will be a vendor at Madison Street Festival and Under the Christmas Tree (Facebook/Lularoe Tiffany Knox).

Her husband David works as a modeling and simulations engineer for SAIC and is a video game designer. The Knoxes moved here in 2014 for David’s job. Their sons are two and four years old who “stay at home with me. Between caring for them and running my business, I am very busy,” she said.

A member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Tiffany helps with planning the women’s program. Starting Sept. 1 at 6:30 p.m., she will teach a painting class, open to anyone, at the LDS Chapel on Slaughter Road.

Driving around town, she will listen to pop radio but her heart belongs to Indie rock. “I’m traveling to Dallas in a couple of weeks to see Coldplay,” Knox said.

Most ‘eating out’ for the Knoxes is ‘carry out.’ “Eating at restaurants with young children is not very fun,” she said.
