MADISON – The musical sounds and the tempting treats will combine for a great evening at the Coffee & Cake Concert, presented by Bob Jones High School Chorus.

An annual presentation, Coffee & Cake on Sept. 20 will open at 7 p.m. in Zompa Auditorium at Bob Jones. The concert will feature musical styles from Bach to rock.

This year’s concert will showcase the chorus students in Mixed Chorus and Patriot Singers, along with smaller ensembles and soloists. Following the performance, a dessert reception will offer an assortment of cakes and other treats donated by Liberated Specialty Foods, Nothing Bundt Cakes Huntsville and Bob Jones Chorus families.

Mad Al’s Gourmet Coffee at Insanity Complex will provide coffee for the event.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. Tickets will be sold in advance and at the event. Proceeds will apply to the choral program’s performance expenses for 2016-2017 concerts.

The calendar for upcoming concerts by Bob Jones Chorus includes the Winter Concert on Dec. 8 at 7 p.m. in Zompa Auditorium. On Feb. 28, the Madrigal Dinner will be held at Messiah Lutheran Church located at 7740 U.S. 72 in Madison at 7 p.m.

On April 27, 2017, Bob Jones Chorus will perform in its Spring Concert with the chorus from Discovery Middle School at 7 p.m. in Zompa Auditorium.

Randall Fields is director of choral music at Bob Jones.

Chorus boosters welcome food donations to the Coffee & Cake dessert reception and general donations to the chorus program for annual expenses. To contact Bob Jones Chorus Boosters, email BJHSCoffeeCake@gmail.com or follow activities on Twitter and Instagram @BJHSChorus.
