Homecoming parade to impact traffic

MADISON – The annual Homecoming Parade for Bob Jones High School on Sept. 22 will affect traffic on Hughes Road and its feeder streets. Madison Police Department urges motorists to use caution and consider alternate routes.
Parade lineup will begin at 4:30 p.m. on Portal Lane, just south of City Hall. Hughes Road will close to traffic between Portal Lane and Eastview Drive at 5:15 p.m. This closure includes side streets.
The parade will start at 5:30 p.m. The parade procession will travel north on Hughes Road from Portal Lane to Bob Jones High School at 650 Hughes Road.
Please make alternate travel plans for the time period between 5:30 and 7:00 p.m., a police spokesperson said.
Madison Police Department will provide assistance for public safety and traffic control for this event. Be aware of officers directing traffic, follow their direction and help keep them safe as they will be exposed to traffic.
