MADISON – Madison Street Festival (MSF) will have a profound impact on traffic in Madison’s downtown area, starting Friday night and especially all day Saturday.
On Oct. 1, festival vendors will start to arrive for setup at 6 a.m. Some vendors with larger booths start preliminary setup on the evening of Sept. 30.
Downtown streets will close for the parade that starts at 9 a.m. on Oct. 1.
The MSF Parade will line up on Skate Park Drive. The parade will close Mill Road between Hughes Road and Sullivan Street; Church Street; Front Street; Main Street; and Sullivan Street.
Streets will remain closed until the event ends. Motorists should avoid downtown streets until after 6 p.m. Madison Police Department urges motorists to make alternate travel plans. All of downtown will be closed to accommodate pedestrian traffic during the entire event.
Police officers and Public Works employees will provide traffic control and road barricades. Police officers ask residents to be mindful of their safety and cooperate with their instruction on traffic flow and road closures.
Free parking will be available at Madison City Schools Stadium at 211 Celtic Drive. The following shuttles will run from 6 a.m. on Oct. 1 until all pedestrians have exited the festival site in the late afternoon:
* Shuttle #1 – Madison City Schools Stadium, MARS bus, drop-off on Martin Street at festival entrance.
* Shuttle #2 – Madison City Schools Stadium, 25-seat passenger bus, drop-off on Martin Street at festival entrance.
* Shuttle #3 – CrossPointe Church, MARS bus, drop-off on College Street at festival entrance.
* Shuttle #4 – CrossPointe Church, 25-seat passenger bus, drop-off on College Street at festival entrance.
Homes Realty and This Side Up are sponsoring the MSF shuttle service.
