TRUSSVILLE- The last time we saw Hewitt-Trussville was when James Clemens clobbered them in the playoffs last year. Since then, they have gotten a lot better.

Bob Jones found out just how good the Huskies are Friday night in a 59-49 loss. It was the most points given up by a Bob Jones team in the eight year Kevin Rose era.

The potent Huskie attack was led by 6-foot-4 senior quarterback Connor Adair who transferred from Mountain Brook. Running backs Grayson Cash, Elliot Mcelwain, and receiver Noah Igbenoghene also burned the Patriot defense. Three Huskies ran for over 100 yards.

Bob Jones actually had a big lead early. They led 21-7 after the first quarter. Quarterback Brady Polson was on fire early. He hit three long passes including a 64 yard touchdown pass.

For the game, the offensive numbers for Bob Jones were impressive.

Polson had 388 yards passing. He completed 26/41 passes and had 3 carries for 19 yards and ran a keeper in for a touchdown.

Brad Anderson ran for 112 yards on 15 carries with 2 touchdowns and caught a 13 yard pass for another touchdown.

Milkhi Stewart led all receivers with 9 catches for 143 yards. Demontrez Brown scored 3 touchdowns, one running and two catching.

But starting in the second quarter, Hewitt-Trussville scored on five straight possessions. They kicked a field goal to lead at the half 31-28.

Bob Jones had a chance late closing to 3 points after Milkyle Stewart intercepted a pass but the offense fumbled the ball back and Hewitt Trussville scored a late touchdown.

Bob Jones will host Gadsden City on Oct. 7 in another key region game. Hewitt-Trussville must travel to Sparkman that same night.
