Hatch deployed to Korea, Afghanistan

MADISON – After enlisting in the U.S. Army in January 2000, Russell Hatch now serves in the U.S. Army Reserves and has reached the rank of Staff Sargent (SSG).
Hatch reported to Fort Benning, Ga. for basic training. He pursued Advance Individual Training (AIT) at Fort Gordon, Ga.
In Washington D.C./Arlington, Va., Hatch worked for the Defense Information Systems Agency with Joint Risk Assessment Cell. He served with 801st Signal Company as Digital Communications Team Leader at Fort Shafter, Hawaii.
At Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, he served with 25th ID Division Support Command (DISCOM) and Combat Service Support Automation Management Office (CSSAMO). In Bagram, Afghanistan, Hatch deployed with 25th ID Joint Logistics Command (JLC, CSSAMO NCOIC).
His next assignment at Camp Humphreys, Korea saw Hatch as Team Lead with 4th Rear Operations Center. In Atlanta, he worked with 335th Signal Command as Team Lead. Finally, at Fort Dix, N.J., he was assigned to 78th Training Division, G6 Operations (NCOIC).
In April, Hatch moved to Madison, nearby to his work for HPE as Senior Information Vulnerability Management on a NASA contract at Redstone Arsenal. “My parents and brother-in-law have retired from the military here,” he said.
While in Hawaii, Hatch earned an associate’s degree through Central Texas College. He holds a bachelor’s degree in management of information systems from Excelsior College in Albany, N.Y. Hatch, who is single, has three nephews, four nieces, one sister and two brothers.
His volunteer time goes to Cub Scouts Troop 350 and AMVETS. “Any spare time I have, I spend with my family, mother and father and siblings,” Hatch said.
