Dublin to host Kris Kringle Market

MADISON – Just in time for Christmas shopping, Madison Arts Council (MAC) and Madison Parks and Recreation Department are working together to present the return of the Kris Kringle Market.
The market will be held at Dublin Park, 8324 Old Madison Pike on Nov. 19 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Dublin Park.
“We’re excited to help bring a cherished German and European tradition with international flair and local charm to Madison,” MAC member Beth Ridgeway said. “The Kris Kringle Market will feature artisans and craftsmen from across North Alabama” who will sell their arts-and-crafts creations and designs.
Guests at the event can look forward to meeting an Olde World Santa, and parents can bring their youngsters for a photo with the jolly old elf himself, Santa Claus. Food vendors will sell concessions for food and beverages at the event.
Cost for booth setup is $50. Vendors will have a ten-foot square space provided indoors at Dublin.

MAC members will conduct a workshop to make lanterns for boys and girls to carry in the Children’s Lantern Parade in downtown Madison on Dec. 4.
Following the lantern parade, Christmas trees that have been decorated on Main Street will be lighted at about 6 p.m.
Battery-operated tea lights will provide ‘flames’ for the children’s lanterns. The idea for parade began in 2013 with Ridgeway and Gayle Milam, City of Madison Event and Volunteer Coordinator.
