Signalink donates to rescue mission

MADISON – Signalink Inc., a small business in Madison, selected the Downtown Rescue Mission of Huntsville as recipient for its charitable drives in 2016.
Signalink recently presented a check totaling almost $3,000 to Tonia Beverly, Director of Events, and Cory Buckner, Director of Development/Volunteers, with the rescue mission.
Every year, Signalink chooses a non-profit organization on which to focus their efforts. Signalink Serves, a component within the Signalink organization, gathers information to give to employees about the opportunity to donate to the non-profit organization.
The Downtown Rescue Mission is a nonprofit organization serving homeless individuals who live throughout North Alabama and South Tennessee.
In addition, Signalink contributed in other ways. Starting in April, Signalink held a Cold Weather Drive followed by a Personal Care Item drive during September. Employees had the option to donate gently used clothing and goods.
Then in October, employees assisted with organizing canned foods and serving lunch at the Downtown Rescue Mission.  The 2016 Signalink Company
Picnic featured a corn hole tournament, with all proceeds benefiting the mission.
“When I went to help sort the canned goods, I got to really see the great work our rescue mission was doing. I never realized there were so many people that actually did not have a place to go home to,” 15-year-old Davis Sinyard said. Davis is the son of HR/Business Operations employee Christa Sinyard.
Davis went on to explain how he spread the information to his Sunday school class and youth pastor.
“We really like to encourage our employees and families to go out into the community,” Adam Willmon said. Willmon works as SSI (Signalink Systems Integration) Manager at Signalink. “These projects help increase awareness of the local non-profit organizations and also allows us to give back to the community.”
Founded in 2005, Signalink specializes in technical services, information solutions and systems integration services within Federal markets. The company promotes giving back to the community by supporting non-profit organizations, local city schools and other outreach programs to help communities thrive.
