Myles Tyree proud of Spartan’s championship

MADISON – Myles Tyree will never forget when his AYSO Spartan team won the league championship.
“We got to go to Cullman, where we were the runners-up in the 2013 Triple Threat tournament,” Myles said.
With AYSO soccer, Myles played goalie and defender for seven years and with AYSO Select for one year.
For baseball, he played pitcher and second baseman in Madison Baseball Association (MBA) for three years. Currently, he plays for 14U Cavaliers with BAM. For two years, he played guard Upward Basketball.
This past season, Myles played in the cornerback position with Discovery Middle School football. In years past, he played quarterback and receiver in Upward Football for two years.
With all that diversity in sports, Myles picks basketball as his top sport. “I like how a team can come together to play as one unit,” he said. “Also, it is a lot of fun!”
Myles is an eighth-grader at Discovery Middle School. He participates in Fathom Youth Group at Asbury United Methodist Church. He has completed all levels of Cub Scouts and one year of Boy Scouts. While a student at Columbia Elementary School, he was a member of the Chess Club.
His parents are Greg and Traci Tyree. Greg is the Director of Operations at HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology. Traci works as Chief Financial Officer for Diatherix Laboratories. “Mom and Dad both work on the HudsonAlpha campus,” Myles said.
“Mom is a native Huntsvillian, and Dad is originally from Ohio,” Myles said. “They moved to Madison in 1994. Dad worked in electronics in the U.S. Navy and came to do similar work in Huntsville in the early 1980s. Mom is a certified public accountant (CPA) and worked in accounting and finance for many years.”
Myles is an only child.

A: Casa Blanca, Beauregard’s, Brick House, Texas De Brazil and I Love Sushi.
Q: What’s your favorite food?
A: Steak.
Q: What are your favorite sports teams?
A: Alabama Crimson Tide, Golden State Warriors.
Q: What do you like to do in your free time?
A: “Play PS4 games, roller skate, draw, watch Netflix and hang out with friends,” Myles said.
