MADISON – Dr. Rudy Pacumbaba, Extension Specialist at Alabama A&M University, will present the “Busting Food Myths” on Jan. 19
Busting Food Myths is the first 2017 workshop sponsored by Master Gardeners of North Alabama. Running from 10 a.m. to noon, this workshop is free and open to the public. It will be held at the Madison County Extension Office in the Charles Stone Agricultural Center at 819 Cook Ave. in Huntsville.
“The topic of genetically modified organisms is complex and often controversial,” Master Gardener Sue Khoury said. “Consumer concerns and confusion over genetically modified foods and genetically modified organisms have been fueled by conflicting and untrue reports about the use, regulation and safety of these products.”
With extension service’s “Food Myths” lecture series, Pacumbaba will educate participants about food concerns:
* The truth about GMOs.
* Food facts and food fictions.
* Understanding today’s food supply.
To register, visit mginfo.org and click the “Attend a Workshop” section.
Pacumbaba provides research-based educational support to state extension programming and is the Urban Horticulture Program State Specialist.
