Bob Jones sets Patriot Night on Aug 2

MADISON –Patriot Night at Bob Jones High School on Aug 2 will set students’ thoughts on courses and clubs for the 2017-2018 school year.

Patriot Night will run from 6 to 8 p.m. with an open house, Patriot Path discussions, class schedules, a PTSA meeting and more details to acclimate students for back-to-school routines.

Before the official meeting, algebra 1 students will meet in Patriot Hall from 5:30 to 6 p.m.

Patriot Pride Time will be open from 6 to 6:30 p.m. for students and parents to stroll the Commons Area and learn about various procedures and guidelines. Students can discover options available during Patriot Path, which is an hour on Wednesdays when both students and teachers can relieve stress. Many students attend how-to sessions for crafts, discussion groups on teen-related topics and tutoring times for academics.

Students also will receive class schedules. Clubs and organization will have an expo for their special interests. In the media center, parents can find out about sessions for Patriot Parent University.

School nurses will advise on the latest procedures. Volunteers will answer transportation questions. Workers in Bob Jones Patriot Store will show merchandise.

Tryout dates will be available for sports teams. Volunteers will report Senior News. Students can find details about school lunch, fees and menus.

Then at 6:35 p.m., everyone will gather in Zompa Auditorium for a brief meeting of Bob Jones PTSA. PTSA officers will introduce school leaders and then dismiss students and their families at 6:45 p.m. to pick up schedules in home rooms.

From 6:55 to 7:40 p.m., students and their parents can follow the student’s daily schedule in class rotations for meet-and-greet sessions with teachers. Teachers will field any questions about class expectations and required work.

Another time for Patriot Pride will resume from 7:40 to 8 p.m. In addition, transfer students and freshmen can attend the Patriot Student Panel starting at 7:40 p.m. in the auditorium.

Student will return for their first day of school on Aug. 7.

Before school resumes, student families can visit for on-site fee payment on July 26-27 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fees will include charges for class supplies, yearbook, parking pass, advanced-placement or AP exam fees, senior expenses and other items.

However, families can pay fee online on Bob Jones’ website at bjhs.madisoncity.k12.al.us. On the home page, click the “Pay Here” blue box at the right of the screen. A courtesy fee is charged.
