State group commends Strong for serving 20 years

MONTGOMERY – Dale Strong, Chairman of Madison County Commission, received the Tenure in Office Award from the Association of County Commissions of Alabama. Strong has served 20 years to assist county government and the state of Alabama.

“Commissioner Strong deserves the gratitude of all Alabamians for his dedication to public service and personal sacrifice,” Bill Stricklend said. Stricklend is the 2016-2017 ACCA President.

“Considering the extraordinary challenges county commissioners face every day, Commissioner Strong has continually served his constituents with honor and pride, and he deserves a pat on the back from everyone in Madison County,” Stricklend said.

The association annually presents the Tenure in Office Award to honor commissioners who have served for at least 16 years in office. The award is given for four-year increments afterwards.

A statewide organization, the Association of County Commissions of Alabama speaks for all 67 counties with one voice. The association promotes improved county government services, offers educational programs for county officials and staff, administers insurance programs for county governments and employees, offers legal advice and represents the interests of county government before state and federal organizations and agencies.

Strong received his award in August at the association’s 89th annual convention.
