James Clemens’ Color Fun Run to help St. Jude

MADISON – James Clemens High School encourages residents to join the fun to run, walk and jog while raising funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

James Clemens will sponsor the Color Fun Run for St. Jude on Nov. 18 from 7 to 10 a.m. The run’s route will stay on the school’s campus at 11306 County Line Road.

This fun run/walk is open to everyone in the community, and organizers are hoping for a large turnout.

Affiliated with “My School Color Run,” this event is an untimed fun run/walk featuring a 5K race, 1-mile Fun Run and 100-yard Toddler Dash. Throughout the course, participants will experience color splash zones where they will be doused in color.

At the end of the race, runners will join in a final color toss celebration.

Early pickup of packets will be available on Nov. 17 during Refuel in the James Clemens library or behind James Clemens from 4 to 7 p.m.

Run check-in will start at 7 a.m. on Nov. 18. Races will begin at 8 a.m.

Organizers encourage participants to register early.

With early registration before Nov. 4, runners will be promised a race bib, color packet and T-shirt. Runners can pick up items at the registration table on the day of the event. Paper registration forms also are available if individuals request these.

SKYMILES will be available for students who race, volunteer or donate at least $35 for the cause.

Organizers hope that runners will share race details for registration with their friends with Twitter #myschoolcolorrun or #jchsrun4stjude. Race officials also urge runners to share photographs before and after the event.
