Volunteers can help legionnaires with veterans’ flags

MADISON – Residents of all ages can show respect for deceased veterans by helping American Legion, Post 229 on Nov. 4.

Madison legionnaires will conduct their annual tradition of “Veterans Day Placing of Flags” on veterans’ gravesites in the community’s cemeteries.

On Nov. 4, anyone who wants to volunteer can gather at 9 a.m. at Madison Memorial Garden Cemetery, just north of Madison City Hall, 100 Hughes Road.

“Madison community members are welcome to help place American flags on our veterans’ gravesites,” Post Commander Carlos F. Woods said. “We hope that you will come out and help.”
