Madison ‘introduces’ Jamie to Denise Hill

MADISON – Jamie Hill can thank Madison for ‘introducing’ him to his future wife Denise.

“Madison is amazing and the place where I met my wife, Denise, in 2000,” he said. “I did my student teaching at Bob Jones High School in 2002. She was a Bob Jones graduate in 1993 and lived in Madison. We have never left.”

“Madison offers … a suburban touch being so close to Huntsville. We can get to Atlanta, Birmingham, Memphis or Nashville very easily.”

For 16-plus years, Madison has been a great place for the family to live. “Madison’s residents are welcoming, and the culture is accepting and progressive,” Hill said.

“Madison has many opportunities for growth and success in our church and the schools,” Hill said. “The town provides an amazing locale to raise children and grandchildren.”

After graduating from Hazel Green High School in 1995, Hill attended Middle Tennessee State University and the University of Alabama in Huntsville on a baseball scholarship from 1995-1999. He graduated from Athens State University with a degree in collaborative special education in 2002.

Jamie and Denise have two sons. Cole graduated from Bob Jones in 2016 and is a sophomore at the University of Alabama. Camden is a sophomore at Bob Jones.

Jamie devotes lots of time to travel baseball and the game in general. “I’ve have been a travel baseball coach in Madison since 2007 and coached and supported many local players,” he said.

Jamie is in his fourth year as Principal of Columbia Elementary School. Previously, he worked three years as Special Education Coordinator for Madison City Schools. At Bob Jones, he served as assistant principal four years and as special education teacher and assistant baseball coach five years.

The Hills own Levi, an eight-year-old toy poodle.

“I listen to a variety of music, but my favorite is Christian rock and country. My favorite artists are The Eagles, Don Henley, Van Morrison, Big Daddy Weave, George Strait, John Mayer and .38 Special,” he said.

His favorite restaurants in Madison are Wings to Go, Applebee’s and Bento Box.
